Woamy is a Finnish biomaterials startup developing cellulose-based biofoam technology that mimics the directional strength of wood, offering a sustainable alternative to harmful plastic foams. The company emerged from a decade of scientific research at Aalto University under the Foamwood project and was spun out in June 2022. Woamy has raised €1 million in seed funding led by CMPC Ventures with participation from Secto Design, and received an additional €461k in R&D funding from Business Finland.
