Roofline builds a next-generation, retargetable AI compiler stack based on open-source MLIR and IREE frameworks. The company provides an SDK and a lightweight C runtime that allows developers to seamlessly import and deploy AI models locally on diverse target edge hardware such as CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs. Founded as a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University, the startup raised a 2.5 million euro funding round in June 2024. Additionally, Roofline secured 2.5 million euros in grant funding plus an equity investment promise from the European Innovation Council Accelerator in July 2025.
